Jesus You came down from glory,
In our dark, tormented night
To light it with Your saving grace.
You started humble, Jesus -
The child of a carpenter from Nazareth,
And You were not ashamed to use Your hands to work - just like I do.
Just as he comes to us today,
So Satan came to You,
Displaying temptations and trying to sow doubt into Your heart.
You could have called legions of angels,
And stone turn into bread,
But still You chose to not sell Yourself for earthly treasures.
Jesus - You were THE KING without a crown;
Jesus - You were THE PROPHET which no one believed;
Jesus - You were THE HIGH PRIEST who gave Himself as offering on love's altar.
We come to Your manger today
In rememberance of that night
When humbly You were born into this world.
Still we don't remain here eternally remorseful,
But we move on following Your footsteps.
From the manger to the cross,
The grave and beyond - in glory,
We take Your path that shows us
How to win a life lost for the sake of God!.
